How to edit a PDF
Open your PDF by dragging it onto the editor or clicking "browse." Use the toolbar to select a tool — Text to add text, Draw for freehand annotations, Highlight to mark important sections. When done, click "Download Edited PDF" to save. Your original file is never modified — the download is a new copy with your changes. You can also compress the PDF afterward to reduce file size.
Available tools
- Text — click anywhere to place a text box with adjustable size and colour
- Draw — freehand drawing for signatures, annotations, or circling content
- Highlight — translucent brush for marking important sections
- Select — move and reposition annotations you've placed
Your PDF stays on your device
Safe File Tools processes the PDF entirely in your browser using pdf.js (for rendering) and pdf-lib (for saving). The file is never uploaded to any server. You can verify this by disconnecting from the internet — the editor still works.
