Safe File Tools is a collection of free browser-based utilities for everyday file tasks — compressing images, editing PDFs, converting formats, generating passwords, and more.
Supported tools process files entirely in your browser using JavaScript and the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images, documents, and text stay on your device — your file content is not uploaded to a server.
You can verify this in your browser's developer tools: open the Network tab and process a file — you won't see your file being uploaded. Most file tools also keep working with the internet disconnected. A couple of tools are exceptions that need the network, listed below.
Two tools need a network connection: the IP address checker queries external APIs (ipify and ipapi) to retrieve your network information, and the AI background remover downloads its machine-learning model once on first use (after which it runs locally). Every other file-processing tool runs entirely on your device.
The site is supported by advertising and voluntary donations. Every tool is free to use without limits, accounts, or email registration.
